Our values

  • Authentic Worship. We value God-centered worship.  We value an approach to worship that is respectful both of God and of those we are with. We are committed to providing an environment where people can worship in spirit and truth, where worship is an overflow of our hearts and where people can experience the presence of God.
  • Discipleship. We value bible-centred teaching, encouragement and mentoring. We recognise the importance of empowering people to develop and be responsible for their own relationship with God through personal Bible study and prayer. We are committed to creating an environment where people can explore and develop their God-given abilities to serve God and serve others.
  • Generosity. We value a spirit and attitude of giving and believe that it is more blessed to give than receive. We will be generous with encouragement, kindness, love and forgiveness as well as with our time, talents, energy and finance.
  • Relationships. We value marriage, families and authentic relationships. We are committed to providing an environment where these can be developed, nurtured, strengthened and healed. We believe in honouring one another to glorify God and applying biblical principles (Matthew 18) concerning reconciliation and restoration in relationships that threaten unity and harmony within the church.
  • Evangelism. We believe that “the local church is the hope of the world” and that we are called to share the love and Good News of Jesus with those who do not know Him. As a church, we are committed to doing this in tangible and practical ways in our local community and beyond. People are to be served as though serving Jesus Himself. This is one of the distinguishing characteristics of a church expressing the love of Christ.

Our core beliefs

What we believe.

Bible

The Bible is God’s Word ...

… the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living (2 Tim 3 v 16, Psalm 119 v 160)

God

There is one true God ...

… the creator and ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three distinct but equal persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. (Gen 1v1, Psalm 90v2, 2 Cor 13v14)

Jesus Christ

He is the Son of God ...

… who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King. (Matt 1v 21-23, Heb 4v14-15, 1 Cor 15v 3-4, Rom 1v3-4, Acts 1v9-11)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit lives ...

… in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. (Acts 1v8, John 16v7-13, Eph 1v13, 1 Cor 3v16, 1 Cor 12v7)

Salvation

We believe that the blood ...

… of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin –it is not in any way the result of human works or goodness. Therefore, salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. (Rom 6v23, Eph 2v8-9, John 14v6, Rom 5v8)

Baptism

Baptism by immersion ...

… symbolises the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Baptism does not save you but shows the world that you have already been saved. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ.  (Matt 3v16-17, 28v18-20, Rom 6v4, Acts 2v41, 8v12)

Church

The universal church is ...

… the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The local church is a community of believers who live in a committed relationship with each other for the purpose of worshipping God, Christian discipleship, pastoral care and evangelism. We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’. We believe that membership of the local church follows after salvation and believers baptism. (Acts 2v41-47, 1 Peter 2v5, Heb 10v 24-25)

Eternity

Man was created to ...

… exist forever, either eternally separated from God by sin (Hell) or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation (eternal life in heaven).
